Gender-free Language

Bias-Free and Gender-Neutral Writing Avoid gender bias and ethnic stereotyping in your writing. Use words such as "person," "people," or "humankind rather than "man," "men, or "mankind."
When you must refer to both sexes in a sentence, use "he or she," "her or him," "his or hers" instead of "helshe," "himlher," "hislhers." Vary the gender order on occasion. Also, of course, you can change your subject to plural;"they" is "genderless. "
