うつ病、インターネットゲーム障害、およびゲーマーとアバターの関係性の調整効果:探索的縦断研究
インターネットゲーム障害(IGD)の文献に関する研究では、主にクロスセクションデザインが用いられており、ゲームのコンテキストに関連する要因を調べることはほとんどない。そこで本研究では、横断的デザインと縦断的デザインを組み合わせて、新成人のIGD発症のリスク因子として、うつ病とゲーマーとアバターの関係(GAR)を検討した。ゲーマー125名(オンラインゲーマー64名、Mage=23.3歳、SD=3.4、オフラインゲーマー61名、Mage=23.0歳、SD=3.4)のIGD行動を、nine-item Internet Gaming Disorder Scale Short Form (IGDS-SF9; Pontes and Griffiths Revista Argentina de Ciencias del Comportamiento, 7, 102–118, 2015a; Computers in Human Behavior, 45, 137–143, 2015b)を用いて評価した。また、ゲーマーのGARと抑うつ症状のレベルをそれぞれ評価するために、Self-Presence Scale(Ratan and Dawson Communication Research, 2015)とBeck Depression Inventory(Beck et al.1996)を用いた。回帰分析とモデレーション分析の結果、うつ病とGARは、時間の経過とともにIGDの発症における個別の危険因子として作用することが明らかになった。さらに、GARは、うつ病のIGDリスク効果を悪化させる。
